The art in this section is made from paper clay (or paperclay as it is also known). I sculpt the wet clay in bas-relief to create raised images which are then painted with acrylic paints and mediums. I use Creative Paperclay® which is an air-dried clay made from paper pulp, pumice and binders. It does not require firing or baking, but dries when exposed to air in about 24 hours. Other clays that work insimilar way are: La Doll® Natural Stone Clay, La Doll Premier Light Weight Stone Clay, La Doll Premix, Fimo Air Basic or Polyform Model Air. There is another paper clay that is made from ceramic clay and requires firing, which does not work in the same way as air-dried clay. I teach hands-on workshops in Oregon and California. See rogenemanas.com for information about galleries and workshops.
